Dear colleagues and friends,

We are happy to welcome you to the website of the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Engenering Documentation (RGANTD).

Despite the fact that our archive is very young, in 2019 RGANTD turned only 45, our history has spun a long way.

A significant number of archival documents that are kept in depositories deal with the history of space exploration: the first cosmonaut Yury Gagarin's cheerful smile, the schematic diagram of design of the first Earth satellite, the record of radio exchange between space vehicles and command center - all these things make the history of the Russian cosmonautics tangible.

The archive takes great care to protect documents outlining development of the National science and technology in the space area and in domain of defense, architecture and design, medicine and transport industries.

Among the files there are architect Shukhov's drawings, helicopter designer Mile's project sketches as well as Prof. Chertok's manuscripts on spacecraft design.

Archive employees have outstanding personalities, they are talented top notch professionals. They express true respect to archivistics and to archive they work in. Experienced employees are generous in sharing the knowledge with new generations of archivists.

The archive keeps developing and is moving ahead mastering innovative technologies to protect documents deposited in the Archival Fund of the Russian Federation.

Our archive comprises not only the main functional departments but also the following intra-archive divisions aimed at developing archival industry: Microfilm and Document Restoration Laboratory (MFDRL), the Federal Archive Reference and Information Center (FARIC) and Department of Intra-Archive Information and Communication Projects.

Our website is offering information on the main archive activities, on its history and on the projects currently underway.
